Why a Blog for us?

Why a blog for us at this age you ask? Well, a couple of reasons --- 1, we can, and B, it's a way of keeping our scattered family informed on what we are up to. For those of you who are students of the English language, it should be "... informed to what we are up." The most pressing reason can be laid at the feet of one of our sons and his wife. Jon and Nikki are spending a year in the Czech Republic where she is teaching on a Fulbright exchange. They started a blog called Nikki's and Jon's Adventures in which they let us on this side of the pond live vicariously through their adventures in Europe. I found it so helpful in remaining a part of their lives, that it seemed a next, if not logical, step in keeping our family and friends connected with our dual lives. Three years or so ago, we became snowbirds, and thus see our friends only half the year. We are mostly homebodies in the north for the summers and hippie art students in the south for the winters. This blog, therefore, will help the kids to understand how we are spending their inheritance. I hope members of the extended family and friends will find something of interest as well.
